There are indeed some kind and generous souls in typewriterdom. I've received far more than I've given, from wonderful pencils and notebooks to BAROPS and typewriter paper to beautiful bookmarks and typewriter stickers (the work of the lovely Mrs. Speegle, via Speegle himself).
And besides things, there are those who are incredibly generous with their time and knowledge. (I'm looking at Olivander in particular here, though there are many others!) How many times have questions about those wacky Hermes 3000 margins been answered patiently, or questions about ribbon issues, or history, or how to clean a begrimed typer, or replace that tension cord thing, or what to *call* that tension cord thing...or...or...
There are some awesome folks in the typosphere, fer sure.
Well said, all! I have received gifts manifold from a numberofgeneroussources, most quite unexpectedly! Pencils, elements, fountain pens and ink and teeny tiny Rhodia notepads. Hell, I even have a fancy new nib-pen addiction thanks to you kids.
Seriously, though, at the risk of sounding hyperbolic, one would be hard-pressed to find a more generous group on the 'web.

Speaking of which: a co-worker just gave me a Studio 44. I'm not sure if I'm more touched by the generosity or thrilled by the machine.
